Gingerbread Protein Bites
These chewy balls are on the bitter side as the taste of molasses is strong. They’re not everyone’s cup of tea but I like them a lot as they are not quite sweet and have this almost licorice flavour. Also, they keep you full!
Ingredients:
2/3 cups hemp protein powder (or any protein powder you have on hand)
2 cups almond flour
2 tbsp molasses
2 tbsp maple syrup
4 tbsp peanut butter
2 tbsp coconut oil melted
2 tbsp coconut or almond milk
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp ginger
1/4 tsp all spice
1/2 tsp cardamom
Set aside a small bowl with 2 tbsp sugar mixed with cinnamon or cocoa powder to coat the balls
Method:
Add all ingredients to a large bowl, mix well. If you find the consistency off, experiment by adding more powders - you can add more or less almond flour, even add some coconut flour.
Mix into balls and coat in cinnamon sugar or cocoa powder.
Freeze or store in the refrigerator
