Easy Slow Cooker Beans (no soaking required)
Ingredients:
1 cup dried black eyed pease washed and drained (not from a can)
1 cup dried lentils washed and drained (not from a can)
2/3 cups dried quinoa
8 cups water
2 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp crushed garlic
1 tbs crushed ginger
1 tbsp tomato paste or ketchup
2 vegetable bouillon cubes
1 tsp salt
1/2 to 1 (to taste) tsp red chili powder
1 tsp turmeric
1 tsp cumin seeds
1 tsp ground oregano
1 1/4 tsp smoked paprika
1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
1 tsp achaar spice mix (whole spices)
1/2 or 1 cup fried onions
Solution: 4 tbsp cornstarch with 4 tbsp water mixed
Method:
Wash the beans and drain in a colander
Put all the ingredients in a crockpot/slow cooker
Cook on High for 12 hours
When 4 hours are remaining, add the corn starch solution to thicken the mixture
