Honey Crisp Apple Chutney

Here’s another apply chutney recipe I made with the things in my kitchen as I had a bag of hand picked honey crisp apples.

 

Ingredients:

  • 12 honey crisp apples

  • 1 medium white onion

  • 3/4 cup chopped carrots

  • 3/1 cup chopped celery

  • 1 cup apple cider vinegar

  • 2 tbsp white vinegar

  • 1/2 cup white sugar

  • 1/2 cup brown sugar

  • 1/2 tsp ground ginger

  • 2.5 tsp ground cinnamon

  • 1 tsp nutmeg

  • 1/2 tsp all spice

  • 1/3 cup sherry

  • splash of red wine vinegar

 
 

Method:

  1. Cut apple into quarters, core them and then cut further into 1/8 and slice medium to thin slices. Set aside

  2. Heat a pan and put all ingredients except sherry and all spice in the pot and bring to a boil

  3. Once boiling starts, reduce the heat and simmer on very low heat for 30 minutes

  4. Add sherry and allspice to taste

  5. Continue simmering for another 20 minutes
