Honey Crisp Apple Chutney
Here’s another apply chutney recipe I made with the things in my kitchen as I had a bag of hand picked honey crisp apples.
Ingredients:
12 honey crisp apples
1 medium white onion
3/4 cup chopped carrots
3/1 cup chopped celery
1 cup apple cider vinegar
2 tbsp white vinegar
1/2 cup white sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 tsp ground ginger
2.5 tsp ground cinnamon
1 tsp nutmeg
1/2 tsp all spice
1/3 cup sherry
splash of red wine vinegar
Method:
Cut apple into quarters, core them and then cut further into 1/8 and slice medium to thin slices. Set aside
Heat a pan and put all ingredients except sherry and all spice in the pot and bring to a boil
Once boiling starts, reduce the heat and simmer on very low heat for 30 minutes
Add sherry and allspice to taste
Continue simmering for another 20 minutes
